Meet Our Team
Zach Levine
Co-Founder
Zach has worked as an educator for over a decade, having started by tutoring his peers while he was in high school. As an undergrad at the University of California, Berkeley, he tutored hundreds of Cal student-athletes in chemistry and mathematics. After graduating, he went on to get his Master’s Degree at the Graduate School of Education at Cal. While studying the impact of STEM coursework on student-athlete graduation rates, Zach served as a graduate tutor and Assistant Tutorial Coordinator at the Cal Athletic Study Center. In these roles, he developed his skills in academic coaching and traditional coursework support. Prior to joining Octant Academic Consultants, he worked at a private tutoring company in Marin County, CA.
Zach enjoys playing the saxophone, attending local trivia nights, and visiting Golden Gate Park.
Adam Whistler
Co-Founder
Adam has extensive academic coaching experience. Before founding Octant Academic Consultants, he worked at multiple tutoring centers, gaining valuable experience in both academic support and test prep roles. While working at Menlo School in Atherton, CA, Adam helped develop the Learning Lab, an on-site academic support center where students can receive support in their classes. In 2018, Adam left his position with the Learning Lab to attend the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley, where he got his Master’s Degree. While studying the impact of the student-athlete and mathematics identities on academic performance at the high school level, he also served as a graduate tutor for the Cal Athletic Study Center, supporting Division I athletes with their coursework.
Adam enjoys coaching lacrosse and spending time with his wife.
